CliKball - Bookmark & Community mashup

CliKball allows you (like StumbleUpon) to share links with others and comment on them. The difference is that CliKball comes as a Firefox Browser addon (SU is a toolbar), and when the users you are following post a link (or "clickball") you are notified by a popup in the corner of the browser. When you click on other people's links, it is counted as a "clik".

Social Networking for Pet Owners

Cute as Hell is another in a series of pet owner social networks, but, like KittenWar, this one lets owners rate their animals by cuteness. It is also a shopping site for pet products, and again, allows the members to rate the products (which is an excellent idea).

Networking Events from Your Telephone

This is a tool that allows you to have short, directed conversations from your phone with a number of other people. It is sort of like speed dating on your phone.

Dabbleboard

Dabbleboard is an incredible whiteboard application that not only lets you save your drawings, but you can publish them to a public area, and others can reuse them. This is great for those of us who can't draw a straight line WITH a ruler. Take the tour and see what you can do.

New Years Eve in Cyberspace

when bokeh and alcohol mixImage by booleansplit via FlickrA number of people on Twitter are discussing their New Year's Eve plans today, which made me wonder. How long will people continue going to face to face parties for NYE when it is possible to hang out with all your friends in cyberspace?

With the popularity of both Facebook and Twitter, how long will it take until people decide not to go out for New Years, but instead stay glued to their computers and on Skype? How many people were on their computers during the final hours on Election night, rather than watching television or at a candidate's headquarters? Apparently, quite a few.

I foresee the beginning of the end of huge parties at nightclubs and other party spots. As the economy tightens, and costs go up, people will be more willing to just hang out at home, on their computers, talking to the world.
